NMBA: Awareness activities organised across Bandipora

BANDIPORA, JUNE 15: As part of the ongoing 100-Day Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (NMBA), several awareness programmes, speech competitions, debates, and IEC activities were organised across educational institutions of Bandipora district on Monday to spread awareness about the harmful effects of drug abuse.

Activities under NMBA, as per an official statement, were conducted at Higher Secondary Ketson, High School Panar, Turkpora, and Watapora-B to sensitise students and the public about the dangers of substance abuse and the importance of collective efforts in building a drug-free society.

Speech competitions were organised at Higher Secondary School Kanzalwan, HSS Quilmuqam, PM SHRI GHS Odina, HSS Gadakhud, HSS Aloosa, and PM SHRI Girls High School Sumbal. Students actively participated and delivered speeches highlighting the harmful effects of drug addiction and the role of youth in combating the menace. At PM SHRI GHS Odina, the programme began with an anti-drug pledge, while at HSS Gadakhud, students participated in the competition.

Government High School Naidkhai also organised a debate competition on drug addiction under NMBA, where students stressed the need for awareness and prevention to eradicate substance abuse from society.

The participants reiterated their commitment towards strengthening awareness campaigns and encouraging active youth participation for a healthy and drug-free society.
