SRINAGAR, OCTOBER 13: The Jammu & Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI), Srinagar, Tuesday successfully concluded the Entrepreneurship and Skill Development Programme (ESDP) under the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) scheme at the Govt. College for Women, M.A Road, Srinagar.

The program was organised in collaboration between JKEDI and Govt. College for Women, M.A Road, Srinagar at the district level.

The 20-day training programme, as per an official statement, drew an enthusiastic response from students, who participated actively throughout the sessions.

Professor Dr. Yasmeen Farooq , Principal of the college, attended as the Guest of Honour. The valedictory function was also attended by Dr. Naila Khanday, Range Officer, JKEDI, Central Kashmir; Shabir Hussain Shah, District Nodal Officer, JKEDI Srinagar; Dr. Sheeba, Assistant Convenor EDC, Govt. College for Women and designated course team for the program from JKEDI.

Professor Dr. Yasmeen  Farroq expressed satisfaction over the successful conduct of the programme and congratulated JKEDI for organising the 20-day training within the college. She noted that the collaboration between JKEDI and the institution had provided valuable practical exposure to students and would inspire more young women to explore entrepreneurship as a viable career path.

Dr. Naila Khanday, in her welcome address, motivated the participants, encouraging them to convert the skills acquired during the training into sustainable enterprises and to view entrepreneurship as an empowering career option.

Addressing the participants, Shabir Hussain Shah, emphasised the transformative power of entrepreneurship. “Entrepreneurship is the path to self-reliance. The future belongs to those who embrace emerging opportunities with a positive mindset and choose to become job creators rather than job seekers,” he said.

The ESDP under the RAMP scheme equips aspiring entrepreneurs with essential competencies in business development, financial planning, and market awareness. The batch recorded strong student participation and received positive feedback, reflecting the growing interest among youth in enterprise creation.
